IPhone alarm: Beware of the iPhone - Forbes accident report

Apple's plans for the iPhone 2020 continue to leak , but a shocking new report says millions of iPhone owners should watch out for the models they already have in their pockets. And I say be careful with the warning.

Repeated by several high-profile sites, a new report says Exposure to HF-Lab iPhones FCC Safety Reports 11 Tilt Pro Results show that the popular Apple sends out more than double the legal limits. HF radiation (3.8 watts per kilogram compared to the limit of 1.6 W / kg). The report blames outdated FCC testing methods for the difference, but I advise you to take a closer look.

14.2. Update: Apple contacted me to let them know that the company won't make an official statement, but has referred me to the iPhone 11 Pro's RF exposure information . This indicates that the iPhone 11 Pro measures 1.6-2 W / kg when "iPhone radios are set to the highest transmission levels" and 5 mm from the case, which means that the level of The standard transition works below (The measurements are the same for iPhone 11 and iPhone 11 Pro Max ). Apple advises users: "To reduce exposure to RF energy, use a hands-free option, such as the built-in speaker, the included headphones, or similar accessories."

Although some major websites get to the point of this report, I think the report is misleading and alarming, and consumers should know all the facts. The key is to see who ordered the RF Exposure Lab: Penumbra Brands tests. The company describes itself as compatible with "products that improve the performance, aesthetics and lifespan of mobile devices". However, its website only highlights Gadget Guard, which sells cell phone cases (the links are intentionally excluded). They offer radiation protection.

Across the site, serious warnings about iPhones exceed FCC emissions limits, and Gadget Guard boxes reduce these emissions to a safe level. The website also quotes a Chicago Tribune article from last year that incorrectly claimed that the iPhone 7 exceeded safe radiation levels. Apple denied this and when the FCC tested the phone again, it was found to be completely safe ( review here ).

Needless to say, I asked Apple to respond to the new report, but I think we already know what the answer will be. Although some remain convinced that the FCC evidence is out of date, there is no evidence.

Although fears about the next stock of iPhone SE2 / iPhone 9 are very real, I strongly recommend deleting this radiation report immediately. And always remember the golden rule: check the source.
